Cape Peninsula
    'In the Wake of Drake'

'If you come to a fork in the road take it' - Yogi Berra US Baseball coach
Secluded beaches - Unsurpassed beauty - Protected natural paradise - Floral kingdom - Sleepy hamlets - Fairest Cape - Picnic haven - Ship's graveyard - 2,500 plant species - Fresh air overdose - Oceans meet?
Like a crooked finger snaking out of the seething wilderness the Southern Atlantic Ocean; the Cape Peninsula stands out in magnificent isolation on the south western tip of Africa.Cape Point is nature’s finishing touch to a geological masterpiece that Sir Francis Drake called.. ’the Fairest Cape in the whole circumference of the world'.

It is here, dominated by the sandstone majesty of the Table Mountain Chain, that nature has bestowed some of her most precious gifts and prized secrets! Dazzling white beaches washed by the surf of two oceans. Precipitous cliffs falling away from a hump backed peninsula. Intriguingly named False Bay curves sickle like for 30km to the southern reaches of the splendid Hottentot-Holland Mountains. And to top it all the world’s most spectacular, and diverse floral kingdom spreads itself across the mountains, valleys and pristine white beaches in a seemingly endless carpet of breathtaking colours.

The 70km drive to Cape Point is widely acclaimed as one of the best scenic drives in the world -. We meander through the winelands of Constantia [Napoleon especially requested their wines], We visit the famous Groot Constantia Estate, before heading for the False Bay coastline with panoramic views over Muizenberg[where Cecil Rhodes had his holiday home] On through fishing villages and coastal resorts to historic Simonstown, home of the South African navy and for a many years the British South Atlantic fleet. We then visit Boulders,a pretty cove which is home to a unique, land based colony of African penguins.A favourite attraction and a ‘laugh a minute.’

We travel on into the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, rich in flora and fauna and visit the awesome spectacle of Cape Point and like Sir Francis Drake you’ll be literally bowled over. We’ll spend time in the park before returning, in equally spectacular fashion up the Atlantic coastline. We’ll visit and climb the highest lighthouse in South Africa. You can actually stand inside the lens-an unforgettable experience!

Another highlight of the tour is Chapman’s Peak Drive, an unbelievable piece of road building with spectacular views across to the fishing village of Hout Bay.We could take a trip round the bay to Seal Island to see it’s cute inhabitants. On to Cape Town via Camps Bay and Clifton and their lily-white beaches. You’ll relax with a sundowner and reflect on one of the most amazing days of your life!
