"The most magnificant Cape in the
whole circumference of the earth!" - Sir Francis
Drake 1572
Leaving the
bustle of Cape Town we meander thru the
pituresque Winelands of Constantia Valley to the
fascinating coastal town of
Muizenberg.
We drive along the framatic
western shores of False Bay thru' the quaint
fishing village of Kalk Bay famed for its
numerous antique shops and restaurants. Next
stop is Simon’s Town steeped in navel history and home
to a unique colony of the endangered but 'Oh so
cute' African penguins .
Our desination
is the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and the
awesome spectacle that is Cape Point; it's
precipitous 800ft cliffs will truly leave you
dumbstruck. We'll find a private spot and
enjoy a leisurely picnic.
We head north
on the Atlantic Seaboard and will stop off to
have a guided tour of South Africa's highest
lighthouse and push seven tons - one handed!! -
Imagine the bragging rights!
The next highlight is Chapman's
Peak Scenic Drive, a masterpiece of road
building with even more spectacular views
including Hout Bay, another scenic fishing
village. We pass in the shadow of the
magnificent rockbuttresses known as the Twelve
Apostles ,through to trendy Camps Bay and Clifton with its internationally acclaimed lily
white bathing beaches.
We’ll visit the historic fishing
village of Hout Bay and
if time permits take boat trip
around the bay,
visiting an island seal
colony and imposing shipwreck, one
of dozens around these beautiful but
dangerous shores.
You
will relax with a sundowner and reflect on one
of the most
amazing
trips of your life !
